Absentee bidding help please.
A few days ago I posted a thread asking If it was possible to win an auction with an absentee bid. Many of the responses were simply for me to bid higher. Now I have a specific question. Bowers and Medena will soon be auctioning a coin that I am interested in, a 1911-D eagle, PCGS AU53. How much should I bid, not counting the extra 20% fee, for a reasonable shot at winning? lets put this absentee bidding to the test one more time. Lets put my money where your mouth is.

There is only one coin in the auction not 3.

I usually bid and say to myself if someone bids more then they are even dumber than I am.
Edited to add, it looks like PCGS do sell for some premium, the couple listed as PCGS went for $1150 in 2005.
