Today is the anniversary of Black Tuesday -- post a Byzantine coin

555 years since the fall of Constantinople, May 29, 1453.
(I don't have any Byzantine coins, but I'd like to see some)

Here's my only pic on file of any of the coins in my small Byzantine collection:
It's a greyscale scan of a late Byzantine aspron trachy of emperor Manuel I, 1143-1180 AD. The coin is somewhat greener than this in real life.
Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations"
Apparently I have been awarded the DPOTD twice.
<< <i>Howz about a Byzantine error? Double struck gold solidus of Phocas (602-610).

I wish I had been able to get around to updating the website before this thread. I've got some beautiful bronzes that would look pretty good here.
