Question on grade and authenticity

Order #20193722 / Submission #9089934

I received the above order and had a question regarding the 1922 No D Lincoln. It didn't grade, and the reason given was "Scratch or Rim Nick RD" so I want to know if it still is a genuine 1922 No D. Basically, will they first make sure it is genuine before listing it with a scratch, or will they see the scratch first and not even look to see if it is genuine? The order on the website says 1922 No D with Strong reverse.

Thanks in advance.

BTW - I thought it was a soild AU coin (didn't see the rim nick).

So to clarify.... PCGS will determine genuineness first, then grade, and if the coin then BBs for any reason other than "not genuine" it is, in fact, genuine?

I believe that if a coin is of questionable authenticity it will be bagged as such before any other evaluations. So if you didn't get it bagged for questionable authenticity, presumably it's real.
