I like it. Unfortunately I cant grade it from the pic. I will guess MS62, though.

Funny, I was also thinking 62.

It's hard to tell if there is any wear, but the coin does have lots of luster.
There are also several marks here and there which bring me down to a max of 63.

    Nice coin all-in-all.

This is your basic toss-up between 58 and 62/63, but I can't really tell if there's a trace of rub on the legs and breast.

Tough to grade from those pics, but I say AU55 is what the holder says. And the coin grades 58 based solely on the tiny pics.
If I say something in the woods, and my wife isn't around. Am I still wrong?

PCGS AU55. There is light wear across Liberty's portrait, and the coin was possibly dipped at one time, though it is good looking now.

Here are some more of my crappy pictures image
Pics make the coin look cleaned...its not. The coin looks very nice in hand.
Also looks like a slight rotated reverse.

I will reveal the grade tonight.

Its amazing how much more detail shows up with a flash...(second reverse pic is how coin looks in hand, but no hairlines)

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

From the first photos I would guess Uncirculated, but from the last photos the coin looks AU58 to me.

There is tons of circulation chatter in the fields that is obvious even from the first two images of the thread. That eliminates any MS grade. I think the 58 number is too high also. For me its between 53 & 55, and due to the amount of circulation chatter in the fields, I'm taking it down to a 53. A lot of people look immediately at the high points to try to determine circulated vs uncirculated. Sometimes it's much easier to just check the fields and see if the telltale circ. chatter is present. If it is...it ain't unc.

how does one distinguish "circulation chatter" from the marks MS coins receive while being jostled about in the mint bags? IMO, the absence of rub on the high points is telling.

With the revised images, I'm also going to lower my guess to AU-55.

It looks like it was dipped, and the strike seems like it was fairly strong. Therefore there is definite wear on that sucker.

Still not a bad looking coin.

50 seems a tad harsh to me. Definatley nice for that grade.

how does one distinguish "circulation chatter" from the marks MS coins receive while being jostled about in the mint bags?

I don't know that there is a fool proof way to do this consistently. On this coin, however, there appeared to be a significant difference in the look of the field areas around the stars and lettering as compared to the open field areas. The open field areas appeared to have chatter, whereas the protected areas did not. In my experience, this is most often associated with a short period of circulation just long enough to pick up light scratches and enough skin oils, etc. to give a different look to the unprotected field areas. While bagged coins do get the same little scratches, they don't pick up any oils that impact the look of the fields. The luster of this coin around the outside protected areas looked undisturbed to me, especially on the original smaller pics. The luster on the fields inside the stars and lettering however, looked impaired. That's the reason I eliminated any MS grade.
