When did people all of a sudden become afraid of ebay buyers of very few feedbacks?

It seems to be a fear that's developed amongst a lot of board members over the last year.

C'mon folks... everyone starts out at 0. I've never once had a problem with a low-feedback buyer.

They do not bother me at all as I have the item. I would be more affraid of a low feedback seller.
  • I've only had one problem with a low-feedback buyer, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the feedback.

I know that I started out with zero feedback, and that the only way to get it up is through good transactions.

If every low-feedback bidder/seller was shunned, then ebay would have sufficiently less business.

I've been a member since Feb, 1999 and have a feedback of 5.
I guess when one of the few things you have to judge someone is a number, you can't criticize the prujudice.

I actually like the new ones. Auctions tend to sell for less. One of my better purchases was a zero feedback newby with some proof 66 Liberty v-nickels. He did not say he accepted paypal. I emailed him and he said he had just opened his pp acount and would take it. Won both for 950 total a few months back. Some type of deal on another 3 or 4 new ones. Not everyone is out to get you. I just make sure i am protected and don't worry.

They don't bother me but I have seen a number of folks scared of them.
I think it is mostly the ones who don't want to explain things to a new person or answer questions. They just want the "slam, bam, thank you ma'am" type of sales.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I might start a lot of things, but stupidity type things, which I deem this issue, at face value, isn't one of them image

I've never had a problem with a newbie seller and have gotten some good deals to boot.

Of course, I'll only use PayPal. Checks maybe for something under $10.

I brought over 30 new people to ebay from my storefront business, whose first bids were on my coins. Unfortunately,
"tattletales" reported them as shill bidders, resulting in 4 or 5 of them being suspended, never to come back.
(Many of my customers are Ron Paul type supporters, who think you need lots of heavy ammo when the feds come to
confiscate your guns and gold once the Jewish Federal Reserve consipracy collapses) They were not keen on supplying
ebay with copies of their drivers license, utility bills and check stubs, or pay $5 for "ID verify" to prove who they are, so
they never got their ebay accounts back --- and since I could not prove that someone who would not identify themselves to
ebay's requirements was not a fake shill account, I had to sit out three different suspensions of MY account for periods of up
to 30 days, losing thousands of dollars in sales in one case.

So when a newbie bids on my auctions, I still cringe....
