Just saying Hi.
My name is Paige and I am an 11 year old coin collector. I love my Dads Dollar collection but I am most interested in quarters and pennies. I have been reading this message board for a while, but decided to join with the great give away going on.

I have found power in the mysteries of thought.
It is always a question of knowing and seeing, and not that of believing.
Our virtues, and our failings are inseparable, like force, and matter. When they separate, man is no more.

wheat cents were all there were. Well, once in a while I'd find an Indian Head Cent, but not often!

Here is a 50 year old welcome for you. They are from an original mint issued "mint set"
that was made of cardboard, and resulted in the toning that you see here.

<< <i>Thank you all for the welcomes. I look forward to read and writing more about my coins. Just so you know, I am not a coin geek like my dad says and he will pay later for it. Good night all. Paige >>
This girl is going to be a welcome addition.

In memory of the USAF Security Forces lost: A1C Elizabeth N. Jacobson, 9/28/05; SSgt Brian McElroy, 1/22/06; TSgt Jason Norton, 1/22/06; A1C Lee Chavis, 10/14/06; SSgt John Self, 5/14/07; A1C Jason Nathan, 6/23/07; SSgt Travis Griffin, 4/3/08; 1Lt Joseph Helton, 9/8/09; SrA Nicholas J. Alden, 3/3/2011. God Bless them and all those who have lost loved ones in this war. I will never forget their loss.
Glad to have another YN here and doubly glad you're a female - we need more of those! And Paige, in this room, there's no shame in being a coin geek ~ it's a status symbol!!!
I started with cents when I was about your age thanks to my grandfather. Now I'm a grandma and can't wait til my 3 grandchildren (so far) are a little older to see if they enjoy it. Neither of my own kids caught the interest.
My 3 year old grandson loves money because it goes into his piggy bank or he can buy things with it ~ but he knows the difference with my collections ~ those are respected not as"money", but as "Ma's coins"... sometimes I see glimmers of hope with him!
Study hard, read coin books when you have time, and good luck with your essay!
