Baltimore Show and 2008/07 Eagle

Let me begin by saying hello. I have been lurking for a while gathering a wealth of information. My question is I have an unopened box of 4 2008 W uncirculated eagles. The coins were ordered on 3/19 and shipped 4/8. My question is what are the chances that these coins may have the 07 reverse? Shoulld I take the unopened box to the show in Baltimore this weekend. What would the cost be to have the coins certified if of the 08-07 variety First Strike and becoming a member? Is it possible to sign up as a member at the show and what is the cost? Any and all replies are appreciated.

I would definitely take it and open it in front of a tpg rep. for first strike confirmation. Your chances of getting a 07/08 are pretty good. I'll bet you will be able to sign up and submit right there. Ask the rep before you open it up to be sure. Good Luck.

your chances are 50/50. I remember during that timeframe more than a few members were saying 0/10, 0/5, and 5/5. I would try. Why not? The cost to join PCGS is nominal if you score. Good Luck!!

I am in the same boat. I have a box of 2 coins that I reandomly ordered at the same time. I am going to keep mine sealed and open them in front of a PCGS rep in the off chance that I get lucky enough to get an 07/08 reverse.

Do not entertain the thought of opening these at the show in front of a PCGS Rep. It does not work this way in this particular circumstance.

To get First Strike™ you must submit sealed mint boxes through the mail. I could almost guarantee with 99.99% certainty that if you open this box at the show you will lose any chance of First Strike™ designation.

And whatever you do, do not believe the folks at the table as they can provide misinformation as easily as good information. My Santa Clara show rep told me that First Day of Issue no longer required a 100 coin bulk submission which was not true.

The possibilities of getting any 08/07 coins from your box are a solid 50/50. My 10 coin box produced 0/10 while obviously others got 10/10, 5/10, etc.

As for becoming a member, this is not required for a First Strike Designation as any member could submit them on your behalf. Becoming a member allows you to submit as many coins as you want.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

How would I possibly go about finding someone to submit on my behalf. I live in Harford County Maryland
