Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

Now this is interesting.

I bought a card back in April for my Civil War News set. Anyway the seller did not accept Paypal so I sent payment to him. He acknowledges recieving the payment and says he shipped the card. Anyway after a little back and forth he finally said well my listings clearly state items not insured are not my responsibility. I told him that I don't want to leave him a neg, but failure to respolve this matter will result in me doing so.

This afternoon he purchases 2 items out of my store, ironically he paid with Paypal.. So now if I neg him for the one card he will neg me for the other. This is excatly why Ebay should not have instituted this policy. FYI I do have a different buying and selling ID.

    Stuff does happen.

If I have even the slightest uneasy feeling - not to mention a problem - about a buyer/seller,
they immediately go into ALL my BBLs.

  • I wish I had gone ahead and given the neg before he bought that way I can prove the purchase was with the intent of leaving negative feedback.

How did he know your selling ID?

    Good for you.

I refuse to pay for insurance when buying from a seller. Chances are the USPS would not honor the insurance claim anyway then the seller would not honor a refund anyway. Been there done that.

Insurance is for the SELLERS protection. When a seller sends an item they are the one contracting with the shipper therefore THEY are responsible for the item until the buyer recieves it unless THEY purchase insurance to lessen the burden.

When paying thru paypal I agree with you, however, the way it is set up if payment is made by check
then the sellers can force that crap on buyers.

I bought a rare item from him a couple of months back and resold it right away as soon as PSA graded it, he ASQ'ed me something about the card and I revealed it was the card he just sold. The ASQ came the day after I bought the card in question. His response was one that led me to think he was upset I was flipping the card for a profit.
