Is Ebay is biased????
I was just curious why my auctions got cancled because I listed the PCGS price guide for my PCGS coins in the description. If you look at this auction on Ebay by Heritage it has pricing in their description which is the same reason why mine got cannned.

Susan McMillan mcmillan@money.org of the ANA would like to hear about ebay's coin policy stupidity, since the ANA board is very concerned that
eBay is using "blame the ANA" for all of their stupid actions. I'd let PCGS know about it also.

<< <i>The Heritage auction lists the Numismedia wholsale price guide not the PCGS price guide. >>
According the Ebay rules, you are not allowed to use any declared price or price guides in your heading or description. I used a PCGS price guide for years for all my coins and I just had about 25 coins which were PCGS coins, to get canned.

You can't list a price for RAW coins. You can list prices for "approved" slabs.

All the coins I had listed were in PCGS slabs. I tried to email Ebay and they gave no response to the matter.

According to another forum, ebay picked today, Memorial Day, to end all the auctions of a disabled vet's ( DISVETJIM) NGC and PCGS coins for
not showing the full reverse of the slab. Of course, the ebay rules say that both sides of THE COIN IN THE SLAB must be shown, which he did,
along with the slab label and serial number.

Here is thier answer to my question about Heritage Key Word Spamming. Not that the answer makes sensem but then again, look at who answered the question. They answer a spamming quesiton with an answer about authenticity. Go Figure.
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to coins in violation of eBay
policy.
The Live Auctions site is a specialty area within eBay. Items listed in
Live Auctions are actually for sale in an international auction house.
These auction houses are vetted by eBay and are allowed to list a wide
variety of items on eBay.
Because these auction houses actually handle the auction and possess the
item, eBay has given some latitude to the auction houses listing items
with regard to eBay policies surrounding authenticity. Most auction
houses employ experts in a variety of fields in order to authenticate
and evaluate the items the auction house puts on the auction block. For
this reason, auction houses may be exempt from certain listing policies
when putting their items in the Live Auctions categories on eBay.
Thank you for your time.

Makes sense. Also as of the end of 2008 there will no longer be 'eBay Live auctions':

Any auction that is cancelled because PCGS Price guide values were stated should be given listing fee credit.

Huh? Last time I checked, all of us meet that criteria.

My understanding is since the pieces handled by major auction firms are vetted by the experts they employ, eBay allows them more latitude just any seller claiming the same.
<< <i>Somebody probably reported one of your auctions to the EBAY drones, prompting these drones to check all your auctions. There are quite a few forum members here who like to report any minor infraction of the EBAY rules to EBAY. Watch out for these squealers. >>

But the only ACTUAL qualification is that you pay ebay $1500 per live auction, which allows the seller to list up to 10,000 items. There is no requirement that
the seller be any more of an "expert" than an ordinary seller.

I see the difficulty of the double standard in your example. perhaps that is a reason why eBay has decided to end eBay Live auctions at the end of 2008.
