call me cynical, I wonder if that's going to sell ?
that seller has no other coins in recent history. if that ID didn't have other listings, I might think it was a hijack or something? but I assume if there are other listings present then the ID isn't idle otherwise.
That was fast!! But I had a coin sell while I was listing it, before it even showed up on my screen. I thought it was an eBay flub, but the buyer's payment showed up just as fast. So...this doesn't surprise me, either.... Nice coin!!
I wouldn't be surprise if the seller doesn't go through with the deal after he realized he priced it way too cheap. The fact that it sold so fast has to alert the seller that he mispriced it.

Exactly.

I got one like that last year. It was raw but came back MS64 with the freebee quarterly submission. It was marked BU. Seller had gone into a book store and looked it up in the Red Book. Didn't realize the gold value had changed. They got full current red book for it and were happy. I got it for $600 BIN when gold was at $700.
That is why my homepage is a ebay search for BIN started within one hour, in coins with key words gold and silver Pays off frequently.
Very possible, he just didnt know. Thursday I looked a a box of saints in PCGS/NGC holders, and quoted the price, the guy said are you sure, is that what your offering or is thier a percentage back from that number. He had no idea as to the current price of gold. I could have stole them pratically, although I dont operate that way.

hmm.
<< <i>WOW!!! Wonder if the new seller will crack it out and melt it for a $50+ profit?????
The Double Eagle pure gold content is 0.9675 troy ounces which at $925/oz would equal $895 less a dealers margin.

Probably just a non-coin person who happened to have a few for some reason.
<< <i>He also had this one (also under melt):

Maybe, though he would have done better just doing a one day auction and starting off at $850.

i do not throw close to a 1000 bucks on ebay like that...
upside is what? easy hundreds in profit? downside is a big fat 0.
