Huge congratulations are in order for the Mets on making it to .500 this season. Despite their high salaried mercenary players who don't care about winning, and despite their having one of the most incompetent managers of all time, the Mets have still managed to reach .500 for the season. I think that's quite an accomplishment and should be applauded.
Mets fans should be proud of their team that can overcome obstacles such as this and still be a .500 ballclub. That's something you can cherish. I believe there's a good chance with some more lack of effort by your players, and more incompetence from your manager, that you've got a realistic chance at fifth place in the NL East this season. You may only finish finish fourth which might be a disappointment to you, but keep rooting hard for your team, give them encouragement, and that basement spot in the NL East could soon be yours.
