...that there is silver in circulation, I went today for lunch at a nearby Chinese fast food restaurant and the change I got back was a few singles, nickels, dimes and six silver quarters, yep! you heard me right ,six silver quarters, three 1964, one 1963, one 1953 and one 1943 and I could heard the lady right next to me got some as well because of the ring to it... ---that made my day
Has any of you gotten silver in change lately?

I received a silver quarter in change last year sometime.... first silver quarter I got in circulation in over a decade.....

But the best was a Franklin Half dollar that I saw in the tellers tray at the bank last month....... I asked her for it and got it for 50 cents....... I really don't think that she knew what it was....

The last silver I received in change was a 1947 Canadian 25c received at a store in WNY.

Nothing this year so far. But since 1991, three silver quarters (1944D, 1950S & 1964D), six dimes (1924S Merc, 1957D, 1960D, 1963D & 1964D X 2), and two war time silver nickels (1943S &1945S). Since I brought them out of the drawer to check all the dates for this post, I noticed the silver nickels have acquired some quite attractive toning.

Maybe I'll create a single ebay lot to sell these items and use the funds to continue upgrading my US-PI collection.

Or maybe not.

Now, back into the drawer they go for another ten years.
