You can't grade a coin from a photo. You have to have it in hand and look at the label.image

There are seven E's on this coin, which one are you referring to.

  • If that spot is on the coin it would be a 68 definetly not a 70.

Proof 70 is not "perfect" it means "as struck"

and that is the whole problem with the mythical perfect 70 graded
coin. anyone can find a flaw if they look long enough.

heck of a nice coin that is for sure... superb gem. the number grades
get corny after a while to me... as i learn more the whole point
of them becomes silly. i like worded grades.

If you're talking the light spot to the left of E that is just a reflection from not having a black ceiling. --Jerry

When you are judging holdered coins from a photograph, anything on the rim could well be the insert which is what I suspect in this case.

As for grading the coin as a 70 from a Teletrade photo, let's not be too harsh since the Teletrade photo's are notorious for being of questionable quality.

Any MS70 or PF70 coin really needs to be examined in hand before passing final judgement.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Agree, I'm thinking it is a reflection.

Buy the coin, look at it in hand, let us know and if it's a flaw send it back. image
