looking at the motto...even the head dress has feather detail struck in front of the first feather...is this counterfeit????

    I think what you may be seeing in front of the feather is just marks on the coin, or else there may be some artifacting in the image.

    In any event, it looks seriously messed with.

    It's also on some of the other letters and, no, it's not normal.

    Once again, Rick is right on time. What you are seeing is the movement of metal from some serious whizzing. It would make a good acquisition for anyone who wanted an example to reference.

    Someone will buy it for $85.

    I just noticed it is being sold from Berea, Kentucky.

    Berea is famous for its craftsman training schools, hand crafted furniture and jewelry. They practice the old techniques of hand crafted work.

    It makes sense it is being sold from there.
