Lincoln is green with envy?

What in the world is going on with this Lincoln? Looks like someone took a magic marker to it. I remember doing things like this when I was a kid. But really, what is this about?!

looks like its a dug coin from a medal detectorist.
I have a whole collection of green and somewhat orange wheaties and even a few ih.

I've seen copper turn greenish (think Statue of Liberty) but I've never seen it quite so bright.
