My latest splurge- more 90s inserts.....

I had been meaning to start this set for a while and a complete set popped up at a somewhat reasonable price so I pulled the trigger. I used to rip 95 Select boxes by the boatload trying to get these one-per-box parallels. Card #251 is Hideo Nomo and was only sent to dealers who ordered cases from the factory. I actually think there were more Nomo cards produced than the others, but there's no stated print run for anything so nobody's quite sure how many of each card was produced. If anyody has any information, let me know.

Seeing these should be a walk down memory lane for people who collected in the early-mid 90s like me. Just wanted to share.

Always been a fan of the "Artist Proof," "Press Proof," and "1st Day Issue" parallels. Cool pickups.

julen- All of these sets (artist proofs, refractors, 1st days) have decent value due to the breakup potential because player collectors need the cards of their player. Arod is about a $40-$50 card, and all the other HOFers (Ripken, Griffey, Thomas, Puckett, etc...) bring $10-$25 a piece. Commons are worth about 50 cents.

They also have value as complete sets because guys like me will play a little extra as a way to circumvent the piecing together process which can take years.

But I bought it for sentimental value, so I could care less about all this. Honestly, I have no idea if stuff like this will hold it's value in 20 years.

I didn't open tons of that - but did buy packs at the PX and never got squat!

That's cool - it's fun to pick up that stuff now - you KNOW how much I like my 91 and 92UD set!

I like the 92F Ultra inserts.

Inserts are awesome. Some of the best were from the 90's, at least in my opinion.

I remember going to the beach and seeing the Griffey in the guys showcase and my jaw dropped. Around 94/95 when I was about 9 or 10 years old is when I have my first vivid memories of cards I loved, wanted, traded, etc. I understand how easy it is to like stuff that you remember like that.

I still haven't started on the 1993 Fleer inserts (and I got nearly all of them from 1986-95 otherwise).
