Fort Worth coin shop burglarized

FrankcoinsFrankcoins Posts: 4,572 ✭✭✭
Fort Worth dealer Ron Swiney lost about $1/2 million in coins and jewelry after someone broke into his
shop early Monday (May 19, 2008) by cutting through the roof and drilling into his vault. I talked to his wife Pam,
who said that whoever did it knew about coins, as they only took the most expensive items. They are currently
working on a list of stolen items.

The burglary occured just after the TNA show ended its 4-day run in Fort Worth, although Swiney was not set
up at the show. A walk-in vault, recent installed at his new larger store location at a cost of $10,000. was
drilled open.

The alarm system had been disabled and there is no insurance.

Swiney is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Frank it was closer to $200,000 as reported earlier today here.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I am just reporting what his wife told me personally. Ron showed me 4 Morgans last week worth over $100K alone. So even $1/2 million could
be low. Too bad the original post here said LOCAL coin dealer..would not have made a new post.
