Have you ever.......

Spent an hour photographing a coin in a slab, having fits trying to capture the toning. Then when you finally get it just right, you go to your editing software and find a big 'ole piece of lint sitting on the coin? imageimage
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.

  • No, but I have spent hours taking pictures with my camera and although they

appear to be good photos on the camera screen, it turns out that the lighting

is all wrong and the photos are somewhat out of focus. image

I have similar experiences, but mine never end with "finally getting it right" image

    Yes.

I usually scan in large quantities only to find an errant hair or piece of skin that shows up in the editing image! Sometimes it affects more than just one coin as well! image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Just about anything that could go wrong seems to huh. The best is having the great shot and realizing I accidentally clipped the rim off in cropping the original image file.

Yes... that's why I have photoshop. You don't have to go back and redo the whole picture.

I usually inspect slabs for smudges, scratches, and lint before imaging but it's happened to me before. Photoshop helps too.

That's what I usually do (99.999% of the time). The one time I didn't is the one time I screwed it up.

Took a great series of photos of 2 coins today, only to discover that I forgot to put the disc into the camera!

Most of my images contain lint, so it doesn't really bother me. image

Usually not lint on my end. Smudges from fingers are the usual culprit on the slabs.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

    Cat hair

Every time I finally nail the coin just right, I put the pic up on the computer screen and there is a big old piece of cat hair.
    Drives me nuts.......

Yeah, that happened to me for the Anaconda photo contest. I probably spent a good 4 hours though, that was one tough cookie to crack. image
