You guys are great at this and I usually end up learning something too. Opinions encouraged.
One of my better pics to boot.

First impression is XF-45. Nice color, even wear. Neat coin!

EF40 and completely original. Nice coin.

    my first thought was XF45
  • I really hate bimps! Bimps destroy a coin. You would not be able to pimp a bimp coin to anybody! Respectfully, John Curlis

    Once again very consistent.

XF 45 details, but I wonder where the luster is -- a coin with this much meat on it should have quite a bit, yet none shows in the photos.... Hmmm.....

Don't know what to tell ya.
The pic is a little flatter than the coin looks in person. Maybe just a hint of luster.
Other than that, you tell me.
Edit: Using a hand held 2 MP camera, no adjusting. Lighting was natural light on a cloudy day. Unedited pic.

OK, I suspect the coin has been recolored or the surfaces otherwise altered.

    Remember, you asked. image

    Thank you Mike.
I really do appreciate your suspiscion.

I've had it for about 5 years now.
Under close inspection I can't detect anything abnormal but I'll admit I'm not too advanced in detecting old copper doctoring.
Whizzing, etc. seems alittle easier to detect on silver rather than copper for me.
I know that pictures can be decieving too and I hope your wrong. (no offense)

    It's perfect (if that's a grade)....

    ... For my Dansco 7070

I too think that it has been re-colored -- EAC grading would be much tougher

I say no to re-coloring and a solid 45 for the grade.
