That was a good read! I always find myself doing web searches for former bb players. I also checked out Brett Bros web site and see they sell baseballs, bats and gloves, but they don't offer pine tar?? What gives?? GBrett loved pine tar! lol, jk, George Brett is one of my all time favorites!
#LetsGoSwitzerlandThe Man Who Does Not Read Has No Advantage Over the Man Who Cannot Read. The biggest obstacle to progress is a habit of “buying what we want and begging for what we need.”You get the Freedom you fight for and get the Oppression you deserve.
<< <i>"...it looked like Gossage let up on that pitch that Brett hit out, and Brett made him pay for it," but a few seconds later the ABC radar gun showed the pitch's speed at 98 mph, Gossage's fastest pitch of the game. >>

Speaking of 98mph... I went to a batting cage recently, and went into the fastest cage. It didn't mention speed, but it was really rocketing them in there. I haven't been to a cage in years, and I felt really silly swinging and missing so much. But after a few rounds I was able to start getting ahold of them.
I went to the owner and asked how fast it was. He said "70". That really made me feel stupid. The pitches seemed WAAAY faster than 70, and if that was true then instead of George Brett, I was more like Billy Crystal.
Then I noticed a chart written over the cashier, which said the machine WAS throwing them out at 70mph, but since the distance was shorter than 60 feet, it was really the equivalent of 98mph.
So that felt pretty good. If I could only go back in time and face Goose Gossage in his prime.

"If Hal had [taken the bat], then I'd only be known for hemorrhoids," Brett quipped.[3]
