French Medals. Where to find info?

Hello,
I have these medals that I have had for years. I was wondering where I could find info and value on them. They are 2" in diameter.
THanks,
Richard

Nice medals. The standard references for Napoleonic medals include Bramsen, Laskey, Prince D'Essling & there is a relatively new German book (I have it but can't think of the author) which is excellent. My personal favorite is the D'Essling, which is essntially an old auction catalog. I have all the references except Bramsen, I think, which seems to be the most quoted reference. There's also a good website or two on them, but I don't recall the url. You can probably google & find them. Look for edge markings; if they appear on medals dated before around 1840, they are restrikes. Originals will have plain edges. -Preussen

Edited to add URL - medals

This is the site for the President of the American Medals Society. I sold simular Napoleonic medals of that quality and size for over $140 a couple years ago. Each will have its own value depending on rarity and collector base. There is no definitive price list that I know of. Those are very nice pieces.image
