My father bought this coin for melt in the early 80’s.

8 R. A. 1893 M. L. 10D. 20 G.
Composition: 90% Silver
Diameter: 38.5 mm
Weight: approx 26.7 g

Is there any numismatic premium for this coin? I appreciate the help.

This is one of the more commonly available dates for Alamos mint. Yours looks like a nice AU with a few hairlines. I don't really keep track of prices for this series, but I would estimate it at around $80. Nice cap'n'ray image
  • The North American Coins and Prices guide lists this coin with a mintage of 734 000 with prices starting at:

    F..........$10
    VF........$12
    XF........$22
    UNC.....$95

No price is listed for BU, yours I would think is worth about $50-$80 but I could be wrong.
Thank you for showing us the pics
