the extended-pin for a long time. The pin looks nice and coated/rusty, too.
If the shell is full of rust, some naval-jelly on a Q-Tip will clean it up.
How was it stored?
Pin is known as a 1950-60's PM10 ..... This group of pins vary widely in design. There are hundreds of different PM10's, with a total of 5 different Maris pins in the set/group.
What size is your PM10???
it is known as the "yellow with bat behind head" version (2 sizes).
Authentic will be either 1-3/4" or a larger 3-1/2" version.
The fakes are usually 2-1/4"
If authentic worth about $35-$50 or maybe slightly more.
The Beckett - Sport Americana Price Guide to Baseball Collectibles states that there's size variations in the 50s-60s PM-10 era - tho the 1 3/4" is found, they say they can be 2" or 2 1/4". The 3 1/2" pins - I believe were from the 60s and very nice also.
Now, they list 3 variations of the pin - the yellow background being the most common.
This guide actually shows copies of all the pins which does come in handy.
The yellow background appears to be the most common based on value in 1988.
My problem? None show a pin where one can see the hand on the right side and see the end of the bat at the same time.
I sent a copy of this to one of the biggest experts in the country on these pins - hopefully I'll hear back from him.
Blue background pin off ebay:

He says it was made in the 70s and not an original 50-60s PM-10 pin.
He based it on the bat with hand and the size.
