1963 Pepsi-Cola Colt .45's with Panels

I had these panels graded by PSA and received several 8's that I was happy and surprised about. There is a registry set for this regional issue. I collected these panels as a youth growing up in Texas.

Mark Hellman collects this set as well. I have never met anyone else who does collect these cards. If anyone else out there does collect this rare issue, please chime in and let us know about it. I would love to hear from anyone else who either collects them or at least knows about them.

Unless I'm thinking of something else, they look like '61 Topps cards, with black and white photographs.

I can remember knowing about them as far back as the early 80's (they were featured in the early Beckett-Sport Americana annual price guides) and I used to know a guy who helped run a local card shop who had a few in his personal collection.

I did come across 2 Batemans, one with the tab, in old Mastro catalogs. The one without the tab was about a year ago.
Congrats on the grades- I remember flipping thru your set last time out and noting how nice it was.

Thanks, Anthony. Yes, the cards are nice but I still was pleasantly surprised to get those 8's. Mark said it best I think....the Bateman in this issue is the rarest card in the whole decade of the 1960's. I did not know if a Bateman even existed with the panel so it is good to hear that it does.
