Matte Proof Lincoln's for the week of 5-14

Same number of coins as last week (23) the difference being that a few sold on Ebay and some new coins are available from Brain Wagner RC. Remember to read the description on the 1912 closing tonight on Ebay. It sounds like it will not slab due to corrosion.

With more than two weeks till Long Beach, there have been no additional Mattes listed at Heritage. The deadline may have already past for consignment, but I would still check the on line catalog daily to see if anything new is added at the last minute.

I just saw an add by Steve Mansfield of Philadelphia in Coin World on an ANACS 65/65 1909 VDB MPL for $2999. Knowing that it would be gone, I had to call anyway. This has to be a mistake. He told me that it was consigned and sold through an internet auction company. He also told me that at best it would be a 60PR. It ended up selling between $9k and $10k. According to the person I talked to it was dark with few spots with little or no eye appeal. I'm really surprise that this item was listed and sold by any auction company without any MPL members being aware.

I am confident it is not genuine because too many people have looked at it and if it was the real deal, it should be gone by now, right? IF it is even current. There is no date on this web page. Well, what are you waiting for??? I do not have $500! Do you?

I just bought the coin. Its for real. Its an NGC slab,and the cert number check out. He scanned it and sent me a screenshot of him holding the coin up in front of the monitor with my email on it.....so it looks good at this point.

I paid with paypal, and have got flight plans set for tonight.

This is a bright red coin. His uncle passes away and he got quite a few nice coins slabbed and raw and in albums. This is the first one he decided to try to sell

I think the coin is offered by Northeast Numismatics.

I don't see the 09vdb on RCNH's website. But..... I did see a 55DDO in 65RD for $62,500!!

(BTW - RCNH is a first class act and sells quality coins)
