$150 challenge

The Powers That Be (yes… my wife) has gifted me with hobby funds NOT TO EXCEED $150 for the month of May.

So – I figured why not issue a challenge. I seem to remember seeing this done before, and it looked like a lot of fun. So let’s see what you got. Winner takes all.

Since this is my monthly allotment, I’m looking for pieces that fit into my collection (in line with those on my site / non-US), raw or slabbed.

You have a nice wife. image

These two might fit the bill.

1925B – 2 Rappen. PCGS MS65RB. Light lavendar centers; smooth surfaces, well struck with a very faint tick on the “2” on the reverse. $45

1907B – 20 Rappen. PCGS MS65. A superbly struck, brilliant nickel coin with near prooflike obv. Fields and the usual lightly granular finish on the bust which yield a great cameo contrast. Lightly clashed dies most evident on the reverse. $115

The pair to you, in honor of your wife's kindness, and intelligence, for only $150, insured post included. LMK.

I've going to go out on a limb here and say that there's no way you'll be unhappy with Mac-grade coins.

You don't seem to have anything from the Cuzco mint yet -- unless I missed it... saw Lima and Potosi.

Yeah, there are a couple gaps there - those examples have proven very difficult to find in any sort of decent grade - at least in my price range.

I'd also like to expand on the Netherlands a bit, too. So much ground to cover...
