Paypal

Many people keep asking me on eBay if I accept paypal and I keep saying no. I know paypal will attract more buyers but I don't want to pay huge fees each month.

I do sell frequently on eBay, low and high sales.

Please leave some advice if you use paypal.

If I don't sell anything on eBay for a month, do I still have to pay a fee to paypal?

I heard from someone that the first $500 you make paypal charges nothing but over $500 and they charge.

I buy from sellers that don't accept paypal, it's better for me. I use my wife's paypal and she checks on my spending habits a little too often, so I send MOs sometimes when I don't have to.

PayPal is the ONLY way to build a broad-reaching business on EBAY.

It does not cost; it pays.

If you follow ALL of the PP rules, you have a fair chance of not getting burned.

By 2009, PP will likley be the ONLY payment method allowed.

Just select PP as one of your payment-options in your SYI form.

PP merchants are also preferenced in Best-Match search returns.

    It depends.

If you have been around since December 2006, sell in low-risk categories,
have high-FB and DSRs, probably not.

    EDITED:

Your FB is fine. Keep it there and you should be OK on avoiding holds.

If paypal will gross you way more money?

Then is bad business not to accept it.

Let's say one is grossing 100 bucks a month on ebay and not paying paypal fees.

Now, let's say 'with' paypal they go to 200 bucks and it cost 10% - this is hypothetical - don't know fee costs.

So, would you rather have 100% of 100 bucks or 90% of 200?

I prefer Paypal. People generally pay faster, and I don't have to go the bank for a $20 check or less. I will take money orders and cashier checks too.

Paypal, like Ebay, kills you on fees. I assume I "eat" 10% due to both of the fees. However, where else can I unload tons of items???
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

Yup. It really is just that simple.

ONE concern that is on us now is that sellers with fewer than 20-sales
in a month can be moved into the PP-hold pile IF they get just one neutral.

Volume sellers with good FB should be fine.

    ...........................................

Next Monday, everybody reading this thread who has had a Neutral in the past
    12-months will see their FB % drop by .33%. (eg:The 100% will become 99.6/7.)
