1983 Topps '52 Reprint Mantle and more - UPDATE - Mays!

I saw this at the toppsvault and had to have it! A three card panel proof - with the Mick and Jackie!!!
I don't have the 83T set and now am happy just to have these two. The card in blank backed and in superior condition.

Does anyone have the set? I've always wanted to pick it up but never have - now? Maybe this is enough.
Thanx for viewing.

<< <i>Very nice, but what is Bob Kennedy doing sandwiched in between those two! >>
He's expendable at the expense of centering for the Robinson and the Mantle.

your two for two tonight!
Never seen those , sharp too !
<< <i>Very cool Mike, and I have a set -- a super one to own, if, like me, a complete original is not possible! Also it's begun to be quite a vintage item as far as reprint sets go. I'd consider getting one to go with your proof. >>
Thanx, I would like to get the set eventually. I've seen them sold as still sealed.
Thanx for the kind words guys!

<< <i>I've been watching the 1952 reprint sets on eBay for a little while now, and their prices are all over the place. I've seen opened sets go for $85-150, and sealed sets from $90-200. I guess it depends on who has any extra money when they're available. >>
I remember my grandfather showing me an ad for the set, back in late '83 or early '84. If I remember correctly, it was $40 for the set, and it came in a blue box with a seal. Anyway, he bought it for me, and I, of course opened it, then later put it in a binder--somehow losing the original box in the process. The funniest thing is that I remember the cards having almost a grainy feel to them. I haven't touched any of them in years to see if they still feel that way.
Good memories with this set. The Mantle is decent--with my luck it would grade an 8, so no temptation to grade and sell. Just good, nice, fun memories.
I nailed the Mays but missed the trifecta! I didn't snipe enough and missed the Snider!
I wanted all 3 - they were all in NYC in 1952 - they were all centerfielders and they would've looked great framed together!
