Baseball display advice. *updated w/ pic*

My son has hit 3 homeruns in HS ball this year and they were all retrieved.
I was hoping you guys may have some advice on displaying them.
What, if anything, should be written on the ball?
Date, players' name, score, location, etc...?
I assume a Sharpie Fine would be ok.
How about holders? Any favorites?
I'm from the coin side of the forum but have been here occasionally and have enjoyed your input.
Thanks,
Mark
p.s. Hope this isn't OT here.

Don't use sharpie on the balls. Ball point is best (won't bleed) preferably blue. I got a lot of signed balls in the 1970s and had them signed with the old 19 cent Bic pens. They are still strong today.
What you write is up to you or your son...generally:
Date
Opposing team/Location or field
Number of runners on base
Final score
Maybe inning
If the opposing pitcher is known to be pretty good and pro material, might want to write his name on it too, just in case.
Thanks.
That's exactly the kind of great advice I was looking for.
All of your suggestions make perfect sense.
Thanks again,
Mark

If he knows which ball is which - e.g. HR #1, 2, and 3.
I think it would look good to have HR #1 - HR #2 - HR #3 on the sweet spots - then on one of the panels - which is larger - place the data that Moose recommended.
I recommend a black ink pen - since black doesn't fade as fast as blue - and I agree sharpies bleed.
Please scan the balls afterwards - I'ld like to see them - I recommend a ball cube - it's the easiest but if this is a major deal for you?
I recommend something like this:

Fortunately I do know which ones are #'s 1, 2 & 3.
It's not a major deal but a significant feat for him (and me
That triple case is nice.
I'll be sure to post a pic when done.
Thanks everyone.

Gave it to him for his birthday last week.
Everyone just loved it.
Glad I took the time to do it because so many times I have good intentions but things get put aside and forgotten.
Thanks Stone193 for the link and thanks to all for the suggestions.

<< <i>I like the Black Ball point personally. >>
I understand.
I struggled with the pen color.
Went with the blue because I thought it was more "old school".

Snorto~
I actually have a foul ball (my only one) hit by Marquis Grissom back in 1994 that I am thinking about putting in a similar single ball display.
Guys, can you imagine if something like this every surfaced from one of the greats in the game? It would be unbelievable.
