Mercury Dime in mail today

I had a package in the post office that came on Monday.
Today was the first day I had a chance to pick it up.
Tha coin I purchased from Quattrocoins (Don).
A 1928P PCGS 64 FB.What a great looking dime. Blast white loaded with luster.
On a better day PCGS would have made this a 65 FB easy.
Thanks Don.This was Dons first internet sale. The coin shipped before Don recieved my check. The packing was great. Nothing short of an Atom bomb would have hurt this package.
Now on to adding it to my set.

Ray and Guys: Sounds like the best place to buy our Dimes is Right Here. Below is the 29S that was bought from a Forumn Member through one of his eBay Auctions. Nice Dime with Die Clash on the obverse and a touch of Tone. Take Care: Ken

    Ray:

Nice going and nice addition. What I like to do is to think about what was going on the year the coin was minted. Without looking up precise details of 1928, a broad brush description is possible: In 1928, people were still enjoying a soaring stock market. The stock market "radio bubble" (the Internet bubble of the era) was yet to burst because everyone knew that radio was going to permanently revolutionize the world. No one knew what the next 4 years would bring: A recession starting in 1929, followed by the stock market crash, followed by the recession changing into the Great Depression. In 1928, flappers were dancing (I presume) even though liquor was illegal. Movies were black and white and also silent. Hoover was elected President. While a few had heard of Hitler, no one took him seriously. The League of Nations guaranteed perpetual peace.

I am sure you can add to this description. For me, owning a 1928 coin naturally leads to thinking about these sorts of things and this era.
