Studs and Duds for the first few weeks of the MLB season.

I was looking through some of the fantasy projections VS real life expectations of MLB players and I have decided that through today 5/10.....

The biggest surprise stud is Cliff Lee and the biggest Dud is Barry Zito.

What say Ye?

As a Reds fan, I was surprised the Reds let Josh Hamilton go for Edinson Volquez, a guy I'd never heard of.

Turns out it was a pretty good trade for both.

As of the first of May, Hamilton was tops in the AL in RBI's.

As of today, no pitcher in the National League, and only Lee in the American League, has a better ERA than Volquez.

    Those two are my studs.

As for duds, I don't know how you can top Zito.

Did anybody seriously expect anything from Zito?

I'd go with Ryan Howard, with a special Precipitate Decline in Career Achievement Award for Andruw Jones. I'm sure a lot of people saw he was as washed up as Zito last year, but I was one who thought the change of scenery would help. Uh, no.

Oh god. How could I forget. I must have the worst eye for talent in fantasy sports. My keepers from one of my Yahoo leagues in which we use a tier-based system: Cano, Verlander, Chris Young (AZ), Liriano and Gallardo.
