What would you do?

I am sure this has happened to multiple members here.

Won a PSA 8 1969 Topps Dick Witcher cheap for my set little over $10 shipped.

Well it came intoday in a non-padded envelope with bubble wrap split in half.




the card appears fine. Here is the rub, it will cost me more to resubmit it then it did for me to buy it. Of course it looks like it could be an 8.5 or maybe even a 9. How would you handle this situation. I already contacted the eBay seller to let him know what happened.

Wow that sucks, can you ship it back to PSA with the holder and label and see if they will just reholder it for $5??

Wow - that's too bad.

I would call PSA - if ya include the ebay bill of sale, along with the unprotected envelope, broken slab and card - I think they won't suspect a "card switch" and just reholder it for you. But ya never know.

Your seller is a cheapskate.

Hopefully, there is no "hidden" damage to the card.

I would send it to PSA and ask them to grade it again.

If the card looks fine, I would probably just offer to keep the card in exchange for a partial refund. I would tell the seller that I will leave positive feedback after resolution of the issue. That last part seems to give enough kick to get the job done.

ANY mention to me of FB by a buyer trying to get me to do what they
want me to do, results in me NOT doing what they want me to do.

IF I had sold the subject card, I would refund the money and pay
return postage. IF the buyer mentioned FB, I would do NOTHING.

Doesn't it strike anyone else as wierd that the card is not damaged and the flip chopped in two???

I'm not calling the seller out but I just don't see how that could happen?

Looks like it could be a 9. I'd chalk it up to karma saying the card should be resubmitted.

How is the card not damaged? In any case, the card looks good, I'd resubmit it, it looks better than an 8

I have found sometimes you have to use the "carrot and stick" mentality to get the job done. It also depends on how you phrase it. When I have encountered issues, I always take the friendly and kind approach at first. I would then typically conclude with the feedback issue. Fortunately in this case it is not a high dollar card.

Sorry to see your Dick (Witcher) got cracked... ask the mailperson to be more careful next time.

But seriously I would e-mail the seller and ask for some type of refund – maybe 5 bucks and then just send the card off next time you send a bunch of cards in!

I was thinking that as well. Very sharp looking card. I have submitted quite a few of these, and this is one of the best looking I have seen. It looks cleaner than the Jim Hart I submitted and got a 9 on.

Also I was amazed it was undamaged as well. The same thing happened to a friend of mine that bought a PSA 10 Dave Krieg 86 Topps.



I called him and asked him how it was packed. He said it was packaged the same as mine was plain envelope wrapped in bubble wrap.

I will probably just send them to PSA together, I will have him ship his Krieg and busted flip to me and then I will ship off to PSA.
