Waiting Game..how long...?

I'm wondering how long anyone has waited for overseas items to arrive....I have several items from England, Isreal, Canada, and elsewhere that I paid for via Paypal two weeks ago...that have yet to arrive. How soon before I begin to worry?

  • As regards the UK area it will depend on the type of postage paid for, International Signed For ( old Registered ) will be 5 - 10 business days, normal airmail should be at the moment ( it seems slow at the moment! ) 10 - 15 business days.
    I hope that helps.

Canada is very slow. England is usually quicker.

My last few coins from Britain have taken somewhere in the 2+ weeks time frame.

    Canada is always slow.

Canada to U.S. is ridiculously slow. Last package I sent via Expedited (ironic name) to U.S. took over 3 weeks.

I was told by my local PO counter person, who I know well, that mail from Canada is slow becauseof the Patriot Act and extra security. Why this is only Canada I can't say.

  • I normally can receive a post from the USA in about 10 days.

If I send it now seems to take 2 weeks plus........near 3 weeks sometimes. I think it is similar to what Ajaan said......thighter security on incoming posts.

  • I find Canada to the UK usually take 5-6 days. US to UK 10-14 days and believe it or not Germany to the UK 10-14 days I could walk it quicker.image

I don't understand these previously stated times, they all seem very long to me.

The Greece-US and vice versa shipping times ,based on litterally several hundreds of coin parcels travelling each year (bought or sold, for grading or imaging and back) vary according to the state: NY will most likely take 2-4 business days, (the record being one and a half) and I believe ajaan can confirm that. California and Georgia on the other hand are notoriously slow, and most of the other states take 4-6 business days. Registration usually adds a day or two. Please note that there is no express or Global Priority option, so we're talking basic airmail here.

I have virtually no experience with Canada, but even shipments to China, Japan or other exotic destinations will never exceed 10 b. days.

Athens to/from any EU country takes 2-3 days TOPS, especially to London with which I also have very frequent transactions. Occasionally there will be a few times that parcels will take longer, but it's the exception rather than the rule and it's very often due to the world record number of bank holidays that we have. Even so, several ebayers note the quick shipment time in the feedback that they leave me.

In the US it can take 2 days for the postal clerk to walk from the teller's window to the loading dock. image

Anything coming out of the Middle East to the U.S. (Israel, etc) is going to take some time just because of their origin and security measures.
