What are Topps' (and other companies?) most controversial card-back cartoons?

To get you guys started, I believe someone here posted the back of a 1970 Topps card that said the player enjoys c-ckfighting and there's another card from the mid-to-late 1970s that said the player enjoys drinking beer. If anyone knows which cards these are and can post them that'd be great. I think someone else showed the back of a third card from the late 40s-1950s (I don't think it was Topps) that claimed Jackie Robinson enjoys eating watermelon and fried chicken (which until I saw it I had no idea was a racist stereotype in those days).

Any other controversial cartoons that Topps did over the years?

And to add insult to injury, he was drawn as a monkey. I don't care what era it was, it's amazing something like that was allowed to be printed.

Edited to add: This was the thread the cartoon was in, but the picture is no longer available.

I forgot about that part. That stereotype is more obvious.

This isn't any cartoon in particular but more of a question that came up to people at Topps.

Someone wanted to know why blacks are portrayed as whites in cartoons. The reason was simple - since they're pen and ink, there's no way to draw a black person without it looking like a pejorative caricature of a black.

edit: I just read Nick's post - and this kind of goes in hand with it. I remember the thread and the pic.

One sort of had "to be there" to "get it."

When I was a ute, I would ride the bus. If my family's cleaning
lady was sitting in a crowded bus, the driver would tell her to
get up and let me sit down.

When black folks were getting paid $18.00 a week - plus bus fare -
to clean white folks' houses, there was not much outrage from any
    quarter about "words or images."

Some of us "got it" MUCH earlier than America got it. But, trust me,
some folks still haven't "gotten it."

Building a collection of such cards seems like a worthwhile task.

I always found this to be rather... interesting. both cards are from 1953. Were Joe's lips really as pink as the Red Man card shows?

I'm actually more shocked at the date (1963). Pre-40's, even 50's, I can understand, but 1963??

I was going to see if you wanted a scan of my Dick Post card but you all ready have it. The Jack Gregory is the best one.

This one always struck me to be odd. If you want a scan with out "soonercowboy" let me know. I'll look through some of my old stuff to see if I can find some good backs.

The ignorant card is "fun cards by gad" 1963, if you search gad fun on ebay you find 4sc has a bunch of them for sale. I doubt if they meant anything negative, that was a common thing in 1963.

Whats even more disturbing to most of the pinheads, is the part of the card that states that Jackie wasn't the 1st "negro" to play in the majors. If I was a PC police, how dare someone try to tell a different version of history.

Isn't it great knowing you've been lied to.

Go pinheads Go. The thought police never sleep.
