Price reduced to $255, delivered...it's all packaged and ready to go!
Hi folks-
As some of you may have read, I decided to jump to a digital SLR and thus, will not need to keep some of the current equipment I have been using. So, here are some items available for sale. I would prefer to sell as a package so that someone could have a turn-key setup for getting started in digital coin photography. There is an image of the items at the bottom of this post.
This equipment would be great for someone wanting an easy system to use for eBay or the B/S/T or learn about digital photography. If you had to put together this package yourself, the current price would be over $400 plus postage and insurance from the individual vendors.
I was asking $325, but now it's $255 for the package which includes postage and insurance. Payment can be made via check, money order, or PayPal (sorry, no credit cards).
Here are the descriptions…
Nikon Coolpix 995 3.3 megapixel camera
This is a nice, compact little camera for shooting coins or every use. It served me well but it is time to move up to a digital SLR. Nikons are well-known for their macro capability and at the time, this was one of the top comsumer models (I paid around $600 when Nikon had just introduced an newer model). It comes with its original case and instruction manual. The best current price I found was $150 + $16 for shipping.
Here is a contemporary review.
Nikon MC-EU1, Remote cord trigger
This is used with the 995 so that you do not have to actuate the shutter with your finger and risk shaking the camera. It worked okay for me, but was not the panacea I was promised. It comes in its original box with instructions. Best price I found was $85 plus shipping.
Coin Dome – light diffuser
This is a little gimicy device I picked up for grins, primarily because it attaches directly to the lens of the Nikon 995 as a screw-on to the lens. It works well for some coins but like any other gimic, it takes some practice. I have two, but only need one. Current pricing for these are $79 each plus shipping.
Portable copy stand
This is a handly little copy stand if you travel and want to shoot coins. I have used it a few times and it worked well for me. It can be disassembled and reassembed very quickly. I could not find any current pricing as this may no longer be available. I have two, but only need one. I paid $85 for it a while back. Note: the image shows two stands, one assembled and one disassembled…I am only selling one of them.
Misc stuff
This includes a 16 MB compact memory card, a 246 MB compact memory card, extra battery, shoulder strap, and the Nikon image editing software that came with the camera (I never used the software).
Thanks!
Lane
Here are a couple of very quick and dirty images using the 995 and the coin dome with a single 60w incandescent bulb from the left. The maximum closeup without using the electronic magnification) was used. The closeup is enlarged to 100% in Photoshop and cropped. No image editing was done.
And just for fun...notice the horrific PVC damage to the obverse of this otherwise nice broadstrike?
Edited to add the coin images...
