Does anyone collect British Crowns

Here is a new coin from CICF, Stack's sale. Larry Stack say this coin was in his collection for years. Posted here just for the joy of it.

Lovely coin Steve, I particularly like the "killer coin" part of the legend. image

Was CICF as nice as usual? I haven't been around for the past two weeks, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

Is that, like, the size of a Morgan silver sollar? image

I'm more interested in a few select Irish Half crowns. That's a beauty there you have.

    Dimitri:

This was one of the nicest coins in the Stack's sale and Steve bought another (George II) that is a "killer" also. We missed you in Chicago.3Mark

Thanks L., I missed you too guys. It seems I took all the wrong decisions this year, I hope that my luck will turn around, it has to, even from a statistical point of view. image

Having seen the piece in person, I can say that the coin has far more luster and color than in the image. And for those of you who subscribe to the PCGS standard, the piece should grade 66. Not bad.

    PCGS? Standard? image

BTW, the strike looks likes it really nicely hammered, and none of those ghastly haymarking stripes. image

OK, what's next? Come on, start imaging. image

I collect George III and George IV crowns, but in significantly lower grade.

Nice coin. Yes... I collect them. In MS, the 1695 is the most available of the William III Crowns followed by 1700.

Is it a SEPTIMO or OCTAVO?

Well no excuses for missing that... sorry for asking.

What was the date of the George II Crown? With the exception of the 1746 LIMA, I think this series is really underappreciated. I think the same can be said for George I
