When selling a fixed priced item with a best offer option and someone tries to lowball (I don't mind the actual lowball offers) but mentions that they have a paypal account and can pay right away! Oh yeah....that convinces me everytime!

Our differences aside, I agree wholeheartedly. Wouldn't the fact that a guy is so quick to pay make his offer seem more leery to the seller? I also like the "There's no way you're going to sell it for that much. Your price is way too high and the card is a piece of crap. I am willing to offer $xx however."

I actually took a little break after a couple of disasters in Atlantic City, but I've been known to play on just about every site at one time or another. I like Pokerstars for tourneys, but the cash games seem to get good at certain times on certain sites, so I try to move with the trends. I highly recommend Bodog during NFL season.

ALOT of EBAY sellers have started using the "reject-offers-below" feature on their Best-Offer listings.

This automatically rejects all of the nonsense offers without bothering the seller.

When you're a seller and the offer gets auto-rejected, do you get any kind of notification that an offer was even made?

You don't get an email, but it does show in your listing that an offer was rejected.

IMO no offer should be rejected automatically.

I as a seller would like to counter offer.

I've had a lot of success with the auto-reject. Most buyers realize that they only get 3 offers per listing...so if the first two are auto-rejected and they're even remotely serious about getting the item, they'll make a realistic offer with their 3rd try - or sometimes even just pay the asking price.

Yup. It's a personal choice.

Pretty ridiculous wasting my time to counter an offer of 10-cents on the dollar.

I agree with you, Steve. Sometimes the buyer and the seller can mutually agree to a lower price if the buyer is clearly interested in purchasing the item and doesn't insult the seller in the process.

My personal experience of Best Offer involved my offer of $60 for a card that the seller wanted $90 for. The seller countered with $70 and I bought it. Everybody wins.

I don't use BO often, but I set the reject at 30% or 40% below the BIN.
Depending on how high I have marked the item. I accept the first offer,
because that was what I had wanted for the item when I listed it.

I give NOTHING away for less than the number that pleases me. I
woud rather throw the stuff in the trash than sell to a lowballer.
It is MY job to lowball folks; they are not allowed to do it to me.
