Would you submit these German 1/2 marks?

I am wondering about these. They seem to be unc., but they are definitely softly struck. If you notice the mint mark on the 1917G looks like it was double punched. There are die cracks on both coins. Is this going to be a problem? I paid xf price for both. I am going to find a way to produce larger photos so you can tell. Mainly I need to know would you spend the money to certify or not. -Dan

As far as submitting them I think that has to be your decision. I am not into slabbed coins by TPG just for an opinion, but of course i am not interested in coins as an investment.

If these were mine, I'd send them in.
...but I would send the first one in, just to preserve the color.

Wouldn't an airtite work just as well for protection?

It sure would, but the temptation (for me) has always been to remove them from the airtites and play with them...

If for some reason a non-numismatis loved one had to dispose of the coin, a TPG opinion on the front might make it less likely said loved one would be taken to the cleaner by a unscrupulous individual.
