Best 70s pack to rip for you money?

The 72 baseball rip was fun to see and got me thinking...what is the best 70s pack to rip for your money? Would it be 71's due to being able to get a possible 9 or 10? 72 High numbers? 75 minis?

After seeing some opinions, I just might take a crack at it. Feel free to break it down by sport.

Personally, I would go with 75T mini wax or 79 Topps rack

I like the 75T because of the two RC HOF'ers.

    The next for me? 78T.

Good luck - I'm looking forward to what you choose and show us!

I would go with 76 - good photography - good chance at 8's and 9's - most other sets are a real mixed bag on centering but I feel like that wasn't quite as prevalent in the 76's (that Brett not withstanding).

I see a lot of 1975 for choices here...I see one mention of mini...anyone think it would matter? I know if I was lucky enough to get stuff to be graded, there is heavy competition in the minis.

I would suggest 75 Topps because they are cheaper compared to some of the earlier sets and still have plenty of HOF'ers. Plus, the 75t mini are usually more off centered than the regular issue.

No brainer, 75 topps mini. I can't wait to see the bust.

For potential value in relation to cost, 75 Topps mini provides the most bang for the buck. Even low pop commons go for big money, and the mini collectors are as feverish as any of the 70s set collectors. 1975 rack is great, too, because the cello was tight enough to restrict movement of the cards while protecting them, too. If you get a truly unmolested 75 rack, you're virtually guaranteed at least several 9s. Only problem with the mini packs is that centering is very tough for that issue, and if you get a bad run, you won't pull one gradeable card. No other year is more brutal for centering when it's like that, even 73 OPC gives you at least one well centered card per pack. 72 Topps is a beautiful set to chase, too.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

For a decent price, with chances of a good return, I would go with 78 Topps baseball. The card stock is fairly good on the 78s and it is a popular set. I do like the 75s as well but those are a lot tougher to get fantastic cards (condition wise).
