1884 10 rappan-swiss?

My 4th edition Krause does not list this coin. It has the same design as the 1884 20 rappan but is a 10 rappan. Is this coin listed in the newer editions? The 4th edition is 2004. Thanks for any info, Olmanjon

It's akin to the Red Book for Swiss. It covers the coinage of Switzerland and Liechtenstein from the 15th, c. to the present; all Kantons, pre-Fed, and Federation coinage. It also has a section on errors, etc.

The entire text is in German, but the pictures translate to all languages. image

Only if you intend to collect the kantons from the 1400s until the Federation in 1848. The Federal period, 1850 to present, can be found in Krause. Also, the Swiss put out a monthly price guide, Numispost same publisher as HMZ, and the Germans (at least I think it's published in Germany) publish Money Trends on a monthly basis.

Hey Swiss experts ... can you tell me about the 1934-B 1/2 Franc?

    MS-68

NGC POP 3/0 (total of 106 in MS)
PCGS POP 23/1 (total of 132 in MS)

Looks like there are more 1934-B 1/2 Francs graded than just about any other Swiss coin (except for some of the popular 20F years).

    Thanks.

This owes its quantities to multiple choice rolls which came out in the late 80s, IIRC. 1920 is similar but not quite as many of these seemed to have been saved. Of course, there are still some sizable caches of 1940s and 1950s silver squirreled away in vaults here and there.image

Oh yeah, buy the coin, not the slab. A "68" in that teeny-tiny 1/2 franc size should be mark-free (99%) and have eye-burning lustre....no friggin' spots either.
