What are the hard to find cards from 1960 to 1975?

From 1960 to 1975 what baseball cards are hard to find in centering or just hard to come by? I know there are a lot of set builders on these boards that collect all different years, and know which cards that are hard to find.

I would think his 1952 Topps card would be more rare/desirable than his rookie card (1951 Bowman). image

I can't speak for the 60s, but in high grade the toughest from the 70s are 71 Topps and 75 Topps Minis. The borders for the 71s kill them and the 1975 Minis are plagued by poor centering.

I have no idea - but I would guess if someone wants to take the time?

Check the pop report for those years.

The 1955 Topps are plagued with bad centering. Especially the high numbers. The Gene Freese comes to mind as one of the hardest cards to find centered.

i only collected hof rookies (and 2nd year cards), and the toughest in those years to find a decent card are

    62 brock
    62 torre
    64 rose (centered)
    67 seaver and carew (centered)
71 thurman (classic card in high grade)
71 dusty (high number and tough)
    74 winfield (centered)
    79 ozzie (centered)

Maybe insignificant to non-set builders, but 1970 Topps Kevin Collins #707. No PSA 9.5 or 10's. I have a 9 that is off center in my opinion. The rarest of that set is the #1 Mets World Champs card though. No 10's and only a few 9's. #'s 1 and 2 on the registry only have 8's.

    to hell ronald sheldon!

ahh that may be your problem you are bidding on a Ronald Sheldon when you should be
    bidding on a ROLAND Sheldon.

    Good for you.

Mike, find me a 1968 453 and 76 in 9 or 10. 6 9s and 0 10s of each. Harder than the Lolich. Getting the 192 in 9 or 10 would be nice too.

1969 and 1973 Yastrzemski's are REAL pains to find centered - 73's in particular
  • Options
I think all the 73s were tough on centering. How many centered 73 Ryan's have you seen?

Did not say it had to be sports so...

Mars Attacks cards are pretty tough to find..

High Grade Civil War News Checklist is a PIA to find and not cheap when you do find it.

Actually Mars Attacks cards have been on Ebay almost weekly.

at least 25 to 50 PSA graded examples too.

Now if you meant in 7 or 8 and better then yes I agree with you.

They seem to have really taken off as of late though and I routinely
    see them now.

Today their are 29 graded examples, on ebay with at least 4 or 5 PSA 8's.

couple of years ago you would see 30 examples maybe within a 3 month period.

    Steve

    Good for you.
