How likely is it that my collecting dream will come true?
Probably, pretty good. I've already bought things I dreamed about. I've seen more cards than I ever would have dreamed about. I couldn't have dreamed of the typical REA, Mastro lots 10 or 15 years ago.
Vs my Beckett and SCD days, I've seen alot. And have acquired many cards that I've wanted.

Dreams = rarely, if ever Goals = probably, if tenacious
Breaking dreams down into bite sized goals, and goals down into workable plans, even if audacious, is the only way to go. Plan your work, work your plan.
Ya know, I'm not trying to get all corny, but I have to say I have a wonderful wife & child, a beautiful home, a great job, two doggies that love me, the weather is perfect, the birds are singing, the sun is shining...for me to wish for a whole lot more would be greedy.

I like your perspective, but what I really like is that you said it's the two dogs that love you. What about the wife and kids?
FWIW, my dog really loves me too. I'm not as sure about the wife and kid either.
Dreams are what keeps man going - what keeps ya getting up every day - what keeps us alive.
But, if ya never ACT on any of those dreams - they stay just that - a dream. In fact, to me - people who dream and never act on them are "pipe-dreamers" - the dreams almost become excuses for failure in life or just failure to "act" on one's responsibilities to themselves.
To me all things are possible.
If ya act on a dream and fail? No problem - ya pick yourself up and try again. And ya create a new dream - or even two! Heck, even more!
Ya never want to become the consummate cynic and lose one's dreams.
My dream of becoming a pornstar hasn't come true yet. If Ron Jeremy (the fattest ugly dude) can do it, then I have a chance. Although he didn't start out fat.

And, due to my condition last night(this morning), I did not convey that many of my dreams have indeed come true and I have many more that are in my sights: marriage and a child, I love my girl so much and I am about to propose.
When I was a kid and young adult I had a lot of dreams. Not really big ones, but fairly common ones like own a house, independent business, wife/gf, etc but now as I approach the age of 50 I've slowly come to realize that none of that did or is likely to come true. However when you get to that half century mark you look back and you can either be bitter about what didn't happen, or be grateful for what you did have. I'm not bitter. It's really weird how things evolved for me and I am not a religious man or one who believes in fate. Things simply are as they are.
At least there is one dream still alive (thank you JR!):

Good luck with the Sharks; now that my Bruins are out, I'll be cheering for San Jose to see Thornton go for the Cup. How the F the Bruins got rid of him, I'll never know!

Thanks Scooter. To be honest, I'd be pleasantly surprised if the Sharks went all the way this year. The talent is there, but they are just too inconsistent and don't seem to go into attack mode until they get behind. They let an inferior team push them to seven games in the first round. I'll be happy if they get to the third round and play well. The team is young and still has a great upside. If they can resign Campbell they'll be really tough next season.
I was kinda hoping for a Sharks/Bruins final with the Sharks winning on Boston ice. I'm sure Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs (from what I understand he ordered GM Mike Sullivan to trade Thornton) would need a police escort to get home.
But I seem to gather that B's fans still have a soft spot for Big Joe. He's absolutely lovin' it out here.
After the construction of Interstate 75 reduced his restaurant's business, Sanders took to franchising Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants, starting at age 65, using $105.00 from his first Social Security check to fund visits to potential franchisees. That's right; he was 65 BEFORE he started to make it big.

Believe it.
See it.
Achieve it.
BUT, it seldom falls in your lap. You often have to take it away from somebody else.
So, if you aren't willing to fight to take it, don't waste your time dreaming about it.
If you're going to dream... dream big.
I dream of owning a PSA 10 Bobby Orr rookie, that's not even realistic, but it's big.
I think most dreams just need motivation and a little courage.
