I decided to purchase auto on ebay rather than....

buy boxes or packs, which I will have no luck in getting any auto's.
Once I got all my favorite players, I will send them to get graded by BGS.
Do you think its a good idea? Does BGS grade tennis cards?

Better idea if your wanting mint cards is to buy them already graded via Ebay. Most raw cards you find will be 8s even under the BGS lax standards.
  • It's a great idea, and that is what I started to do once I came to these boards. Before that, I was just ripping away at random blasters from Walmart and not getting anything other than the occasional game used card. If you save the $20+ that you spend on blasters alone, you'll have enough money to buy some NICE autos after saving up for a little bit. I still buy hobby boxes every now and then, just for fun, but that's about a 2-3 time a year occurence.

I also agree with the previous post that you should buy some of the cards already graded. Most of the time, you just can't tell the condition of cards from a simple ebay scan.

Ripping wax in search of specific card, unless it is a standard base card, is a losing proposition (unless you have the luck of Zep). No doubt you will come out ahead financially just picking up the Agassi auto on eBay.
