Home Buy, Sell & Trade - Cards & Memorabilia

Need help with three different nonsport cards

I have the following, and want to know if it's worth it to have any of these sets graded:

ten (10) State Girl Series - Perfection Cigarettes - no year buy I think they're from around 1911.
Ninety Seven (97) 1950 Freedom War Series
Fourteen (14) 1950 Hop-Along Cassidy
Thirteen (13) 1967 Planet of the Apes

Each card varies in condition from poor to near mint.

I appreciate any advise/comments.

  • you get a better answer w/ scans!
    Jery's T206 set: Looking for PSA 6's & 7's!
  • without seeing the cards (scans would help), I suggest the following questions:

    1. do you have any plans on re-selling the cards ?

    2. how valuable are these cards ? check to see if any of these are rare (short printed, or key cards). If so, grade them as collectors will want to acquire high grade or rare to complete their collection.

    3. what are these cards ? make sure you know exactly what the cards are and from what year / set.

    cheers
  • Good Day,
On the Freedom's War, not worth it unless you are at least NM 7 and some NM-MT 8.
Planet of the Apes, not worth it unless you can get most MINT 9's with a few 8's.
Hop a Long Cassidy's, not worth it unless at least NM 7.
Cigarette cards, Don't know anything about those.

Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!
  • I agree with Neil, except if you have any die-cut tank cards from Freedom's War. Any of those that would grade 5 or above. And also if you had any of the Hoppy foil cards. I'd have any of those graded unless they are really major dogs.

If you are considering slabbing for protection purposes, I'd get the State Girls Perfection cards graded - they are very delicate and prone to wear.
