Ebay Posts Earnings - Boycott a Bust

I don't care all that much even though I joined the boycott. I've found that most of what I was buying I could get directly from dealers for not much more than I was paying on ebay, and what I was selling wasn't really worth the hassle after paying the fees, standing in line at the USPS, etc. The household stuff has been going to charity, and books/CDs sell on Amazon. I also waste less time on the internet.

Overall life without Ebay has been pretty good for me.

Ebay wins, and I win.

I think everyone with half a brain knew the boycott was going to be a bust. The week of the boycott I had the best sales I have ever had on Ebay.

I think ebay's earnings are embelished/falsified for many obvious reasons. But I could be wrong. We'll see.

Unless you're Enron or someone destined for major litigation like that, it's difficult to embellish your earnings report with the S.E.C. I can't imagine the people at eBay are that stupid. That said, I can't ever get a fix on their stock. It doesn't have a real personality like some stocks do. I've always wanted to own it.

yeah, like bear stearns i'd wager there is quite a bit of fudging the numbers...lotta smoke and mirrors on Wall Street.
