The sport of mixed martial arts is on the rise and seems to be knocking off boxing and looks like it is the combat sport of the future. Since Boxing is basically history, Who is your favorite Mixed Martial arts fighter? Do you guys even watch mixed martial arts? I'm a huge fan of mixed martial arts and been watching the sports since the early days of UFC 1, 2 and 3.
I'm also a huge boxing fan but I'm not old enough to say I've watched Ali, Sugar Ray, Marvin Hagler or some of the all time greats live. I've seen tapes of these guys fight but you can't totally appreciate a fighter just from watching from tapes of old fights. For me theres nothing more exciting then watching a big fight live in person or on television. Who are your favorite Boxers to watch right now?
If you look at both sports do you think they can survive together?
My Favorite MMA Fighters to watch would have to be Georges St. Pierre, Randy Couture, Diaz Brothers, Frankie Edgar and Anderson Silva.
My favorite Boxers to watch would have to be Oscar De La Hoya, Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, Aurturo Gotti and not many that still fight.
Your guys input would be great!!!

Remy Bonjanski (k1)
I had the opportunity to meet him, Sean Sherk, Keith Jardine and Babalu Sobral a few weeks ago. All were very cool and posed for pictures.

As far as fighters today, there are WAY too many to choose. But, I can say that even though I like the heavyweights pounding each other ...... the smaller guys is where the action is. MMA is definitely fun to watch.

I dont even know who the heavyweight champ is?
But the Greatest was Royce Gracie, when the UFC first started and there was no weight class and you fought 4 times in a night, the 160lb Gracie was still standing.
"This too shall pass."
Just jokes everyone, I'll watch it if it's on but I'm not very familiar with it outside of the top names.
And since you listed your favorite boxers, I'll go ahead and say that mine's Bernard Hopkins. It's a shame that he lost the split decision to Calzaghe this weekend, but it wasn't too bad of a performance for a 43 year old.
