Best jewelers loupe for cards?

I should have bought one years ago, but I've finally decided to buy a jewelers loupe. A friend of mine lent me his, and I was stunned at the things the naked eye misses (or it could be just me). Anyway, I need advice on buying a good loupe. Is one of the cheapies on ebay good enough to do the trick? What power magnification would be the best for cards?

I use a 16X Ansco.

10X is probably good enough.

Personally, I wouldn't go above 10x because you will start seeing too much.

I have a hand held comparitor for work, it doubles nicely for cards. It has an interchangeable graduated lens which you can use to measure borders as well as the corner angles. It's way overkill for cards only.
