I really feel the centering is fine to get a bump. (The chipping....I can definatly see holding it back) I just went on ebay and looked at the five PSA 8's and there is only one that has comparable centering to this one.
I would say go for it. I think the centering is fine considering it is pushed against the left edge of the slab and should be pretty close to 50/50. The right is a little flaky, but I've seen flaking like that on many 9s because I think PSA views this as a standard factory cut. What might kill you is the flaking on the top edge towards the right corner because they might consider that actual wear.
It depends how much of a gambler you are. A 8.5 will probably get you $200-$250 more than an 8. I say go for it. I have had several BGS 8.5 Jordans and yours look OK enough to roll the dice.

I have not sent anything into PSA since the whole .5 change. (I know....I said I was done. But like a true addict....I'm getting the itch) I'm leaning twords sending it in to see if I can pull an 8.5. I don't want to send it to PSA in this case...I'm planning on cracking it out and submitting it raw. I'm ready to roll the dice but I think the concensus is that it's in the correct holder? Hopefully I get a grader that wants to be nice for a day!
I would recommend against cracking this card out. If you are going to submit it for the review, leave it holdered. My opinion, however, is too that it will unlikely receive the bump. If I personally owned the card, I would have to think long and hard about sending it in for the potential bump. I agree with others above that it is a really nice 8 but does not jump out enough, eye appeal wise, to warrant a .5 bump.
Steve, I don't know if your just trying to pick a fight or just playing the devils advocate? How would this card come back a 6? I understand the risk involved....if it came back a 7, I would own the nicest 7 ever. I am still putting together a PSA 1 thru PSA 10 Jordan RC collection and I'll just make it a part of my collection if things go bad?
I know you were aiming your post at Win but let me just say... as I stated above I think it looks like a 7. Just my opinion. It does NOT look like a nice 8 to me. However, the above board members have MUCH better eyes for grading than I do. It just looks like a 7 to me. I don't think a 6 is very likely but I also don't think an 8.5 is very likely. I think you are looking at a 7 or an 8 if you crack and resub. I would be VERY surprised if you got an 8.5. Just my two cents.

I very much appreciate your opinion.....and I actually appreciate Steve's opinion on most occassions. I can see what you are saying....you think it has a greater chance at moving down a .5 than it does moving up a .5 I can see the benifit in submitting it for review....thus eliminating the "risk" of it going down.

I would have to agree with the others that it is pretty unlikely to bump. Unfortunately, the cost to review this card is steep because the SMR value is over $500. I've been having the same debate on what to do with a Jordan RC too. Pay the review fee or crack and resub? Right now, I'm going to sit on the sideline until I see some some 8.5s.
Seeing as how they have bumped review cards a full grade when they deem it appropriate, I see no benefit in cracking the card out other than saving a few bucks on grading fees.
I know what Steve is saying... I recently cracked an 8 hoping for a 9 and got a 6. Several others were downgraded one grade. Many were bumped. In my opinion, your Jordan looks like a solid 8. It may be worth a shot or two at bumpage.

Is that also a scratch on the left middle,
or is that from the slab?
Edited to correct my spelling!
What is that just under the fleer logo? Over the "m" in Premier
Chipping on the right edge and a few surface imperfections keep it from bumping IMO

Yes, you said it better than I.
Good luck.

Don't you remember all the threads where I said many times a card could grade a 6 then an 8?
No where did I say your card looked like a 6. Crack it out and lets see then.
