What would you pay for 1970, 1971 and 1972 Topps Sets in VG grade ?

A guy has all 3 sets in albums and he said they grade VG with some nicer and some worse. I have not seen them yet so I have no idea. Say the set are rough, think they would still bring some decent money on ebay just because it is a full set?

Ballpark price what would you pay for those 3 sets in low grade if you wanted to try to make some money on a flip. Thanks

I would pay about 40% of what I was SURE I could QUICKLY resell them for.

I would not be afraid to make my first offer below that figure.

I would make sure that the "better cards" are all there.

    A grand sounds about right.

Then again I would have to see the money cards, are they better or worse then the average card?

VG cards can have wrinkles/creases so I'd have to check the HOF's etc.

From my experience, I could almost guarantee a VG set from those years will go from $300 to $500 each if it's done right (ie scanned nice and neat, accurate descriptions etc).

Assuming they are generally in VG condition, I figure 12-1500 is the most you can get for them. Of course, if someone says a raw set is VG, the cards are most likely beaten up pretty badly. I wouldn't pay more than $600 for the whole shabang.

  • try to get them for about $750-800 if the money cards are halfway decent.

Centering on the Ryans, Aarons, Roses, and RCs is the key - but if you paid $250, 300, 300 in order you'd be in the right ballpark for a flip - and a great ballpark for keepers.
