No. Michael Eisner owns Topps now and he has more money that Upper Deck. Topps has a much stronger name in the market because of their history, they don't need Upper Deck.
It should be the other way around Topps buying UD. I actually preferred it when you had 3 to 4 really strong companies, I just wish they would limit the number of sets they could issue a year to 3 to 4.

I don't think the hobby can support more than 2 manufacturers right now. Donruss is the third player out there. I can see them merging with one of the Big 2.
We do need fewer products, maybe just 5 sets from each company per sport. I don't know of too many people that put together modern sets, especially in FB and BKB.
